Team Ice surges in the 2nd Half

After the Cinderella 8th seed ‘Showtime’ stormed through the Intramural Elite tournament, it finally met its match last night.Team Ice, led by the play making of point guard Doug King, made a late 2nd half surge to comeback and win the Blue League Championship.
With 6:29 left to play, Showtime’s veteran guard/forward Don Lilley fouled out with a suspect-objective call–which may have proven to be the game changer. Split decision after the first 12 minutes, Showtime started the half with an early lead, Lilley realized (Ice Forward) Bobby Codjoe had 3 fouls and started to create for his teammates dishing to Brent Gaines and Khalid Bilal.
Team Ice won the game on defense, forcing multiple turnovers in the back court and perimeter. Kenneth, Kris, and Derek Sharp all contributed to the team steals. After Lilley fouled out, Codjoe fouled out shortly after and a few freethrows later, Team Ice held a slim lead.
Showtime’s remarkable run did not end in vein, after playing the 2nd of a double header, and one player playing in 3 games, Showtime players as well as Ice players made it an all time Intramural Championship game to remember. Paris, Don, Brent, and Bobby all played in their last games.
