Championship Week!
The fourth and final week of the Intramural basketball schedule has wrapped and teams are currently heading into tournament play. Me and Tim hosted two POWERADE sampling nights last week. Both were complete successes thanks to the large crowds and the strong play, this left both players and fans alike craving that thirst quenching POWERADE. We were able to hand out tons of bottles and premium giveaways were given to those who impressed us with either there play on the court or their love of POWERADE! The tournament brackets were released on Friday afternoon, and teams were left to strategize for two possibly three games this week. The teams who make the championship in Men Comp, Fraternity A, and Women’s Comp will get to play at the 5,000-seat Anderson Arena on Thursday night! The most anticipated bracket this week will be Fraternity A, Sigma Phi Epsilon and Pi Kappa Alpha received byes for winning their regular season divisions. The other two Fraternity A matchups include Delta Tau Delta taking on Phi Tau and Sigma Alpha Epsilon faces off against Alpha Sigma Phi, both of these games tip off Monday at 8pm at the Field House. The Women’s Comp bracket will surely be competitive; three of the four teams have won at least three games this season. The two teams to look out for are Brooke’s Ballers and Wii Not Fit; they played to a 44-44 tie back on February 4. This should be a fun week at the Field House Anderson Arena as 69 teams will be vying for 8 division championships. Look out for me and Tim this week on Monday and Wednesday we will be hosting sampling nights, so be sure to come out and enjoy some free POWERADE and potentially premium giveaways!
