Using Facebook Connect on CBS Intramurals

We all know the hassle of remembering too many passwords, which is partly why Facebook created a way to use your Facebook username and password to log in to other sites. It’s called Facebook Connect, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve integrated the system into cbsintramurals.com/POWERADE. Now you can log in or sign up with your Facebook username and password, which means one less password for you to remember. Here’s how to get started:

If You Already Have a CBS Intramurals account:

  1. Log In to Facebook – Click the blue ‘Connect with Facebook’ button on the log in page and enter your Facebook username and password to log in.
  2. Log In to CBS Intramurals – After completing Step 1, log in with your CBS Intramurals account to link your accounts.

If You Don’t Have a CBS Intramurals account:

  1. Log In to Facebook – Click the blue ‘Connect with Facebook’ button on the log in page and enter your Facebook username and password to log in.
  2. Create a CBS Intramurals Account – After completing Step 1, simply fill out a few fields on the sign up page to create your CBS Intramurals account and link it to your Facebook account.

That’s it! Now you can log in with your Facebook account on cbsintramurals.com/POWERADE by clicking the blue ‘Connect with Facebook’ button.

Share Intramurals Activities With Facebook Friends

In addition to making it easier to sign up and log in, Facebook Connect also makes it really easy to share your CBS Intramurals photos and videos with all your friends on Facebook. When you first connect with your Facebook account, you’ll see a pop up window asking if you’d like CBS Intramurals to automatically post links to your Facebook feed when you do things like post photos or videos (don’t worry, you can change this later), so all your friends can see what you’re up to on CBS Intramurals.

If you ever want to change your Facebook feed settings on CBS Intramurals, just visit the Facebook Settings page when you’re logged in, and edit your options there. Or you can control your settings right on facebook.com — just look for CBS Intramurals under your Application Settings.

We hope this makes using CBS Intramurals just a little bit easier and more useful. If you have questions, send us a note at cbsintramurals@sportsvite.com. Cheers!

Bold Predictions for Flag Football ‘09

The 2009 POWERADE College Intramurals Flag Football season is right around the corner. Within the next few weeks, teams will be taking to the fields with hopes of being crowned Intramural Champions. Those coveted t-shirts await!

So what can we look forward to this season? Here’s a few BOLD predictions:

- After starting the season 3-0, several defending champion teams will take a black Sharpie to their 2008 championship t-shirts and insert “2009.” Repeat anyone?

- At least once per night of intramurals, on every campus across the country, a captain will use the famous Jim Mora speech to express his/her frustration with their team. PLAYoffs?!

- One team at UGA will take their rivalry with the University of Florida a little too far when they name their team the “Florida Gators” and then purposely lose every game throughout the season.

- Brett Favre will register for a class at the University of Minnesota so he can win an intramural championship for his daughter (:52 second mark). He will then throw 7 interceptions.

- Seventy-two teams will use their team name as a dedication to Michael Jackson.

- Eighty-eight teams will wish they had chosen a different team name by season’s end.

- After starting the year 0-5, and being shutout in three of five games this year, “The All Star Studs” will hold a press conference officially announcing that they “were not trying their hardest” and “didn’t want to make other teams feel bad by running up the score on them.” Zero people will attend the conference.

- A referee will throw a flag so high in the air that it does not hit the ground until the 2010 Flag Football season begins.

- Someone will try this trick play (make sure someone is getting it on tape!).

- It will be an unforgettable season.
