I know you guys are all excited for the upcoming Oregon game this weekend but don’t forget to come out to the intramural games for some great football action.  Your POWERADE reps will be out at the fields distributing samples and catching all the big plays.  On Friday we will be at Cromwell starting at 11 a.m. and on Sunday we will be back out at Cromwell at 3 p.m.  Look for the black POWEARDE tent and come say hey.  If you want to check out highlights from the past two weeks, visit our page here.

We had our first sampling event last Sunday, which went really well despite the crazy traffic on campus while the President of the U.S. was here! Everyone loved the FREE POWERADE!

Our second event went really well too – we ran out quicker than the first day! Our third event is tonight at Coffey Rd. Park at 7:30pm! Can’t wait to get some more action shots and videos of great plays!

The Spartans are leading the way in BC’s NFL division at 3-0. Their most recent victory was a 37-0 defeat of Birdball, the baseball team. They have yet to be scored on this year and look to add another championship to their growing tally. Will a Cinderella emerge or is another Spartan title a foregone conclusion?

1st Sampling Event went very well. Many individuals, both fans and participants, showed up to watch the Flag Football kickoff. Many competitive teams in the competition this year, not to mention FREE POWERADE. Lets get ready for tomorrow’s Sampling Event.

The 2009 NCCS Flag Football National Championship sponsored by POWERADE is right around the corner! The games kick off on January 3rd at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. The three day tournament culminates on Tuesday, January 5th with the co-ed, women’s, and men’s semifinal and final matchups.

If you’re in the Tampa area, we urge you all to come out and watch the best collegiate flag football action in the country. If you can’t make it to Tampa, you can follow all the action live from your computer.

2009 NCCS National Flag Football Championship Show

This year’s exciting flag football season came to a close last Thursday, December 3rd as five new intramural champions were named! To start off the night with the 5:30 game, team Wrenis Pinkles won the men’s intermediate championship. Next, Dairy Club A was the winner of the co-rec advanced championship. In the co-rec intermediate championship, The Penetrators shut out the Theta Tau II team, with a final score of 14-0. The men’s advanced game at 8:45 was so close! Itchy Roast Beef 3 bested Tree Fiddy 32-31. In the final game of the night, Kthanks took home the women’s advanced champion title.

There were also some awesome half-time competitions that players and fans competed in to win gift cards and autographed VT jerseys! The lucky winner of the Ryan Williams #34 jersey (recently named ACC Rookie of the Year!) got to meet him and have his picture taken with him.

Now that playoffs have begun and we are halfway through the season, we have some awesome footage of the IM football action at VT!! Go to videos and rate your favorites. The Intramural Flag Football games scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, October 27) have been canceled due to inclement weather and poor field conditions. Players are upset that the rain has forced the cancellation of tonight’s games, as these games will not be rescheduled. Looks like the teams that missed playing this week will have to play extra hard next Tuesday to make up for lost time!
