8 teams make it to the this semester’s mid season classic, and competition will be fierce no doubt, for a chance to head to Boston!

Monday sees the four first round games take place. Kicking things off is monSTARs vs the Channel 6 news team. Then the #8 seed Young Gunz looks to upset the aptly named #1 seed Dreamteam. 7pm sees Sammy take on MOB and the night ends with Pinkstorm taking on the Green Light Boys.

Come out to Taffner and check out what will no doubt be an action packed night of basketball…

yes yes, 2nd installment of the IM basketball ball season blogging from yours truly. Friday night, it was the ladies taking the court at Taffner. Unfortunately only 1 team showed up for the first game. They used that time wisely by practicing, and taking some time to sample some free POWERADE. Next 2 games of the night had some free flowing basketball, with some blocks being the highlight of the night. for me on the sidelines anyway!

welcome back everybody, to another exciting installment of Intramural Basketball at St Johns University.
For those of you that don’t know, I’m one of those guys standing by the POWERADE table! Steven and I are bringing you plenty of free POWERADE as well as some other nice giveaways this semester.
And to top it all off, we’ll be the guys catching all your nice moves, jumpers and perhaps a dunk or two on camera.

As for the weather disrupting basketball on Wednesday and Thursday, nothing we can do about that. But catch us in Taffner, 6-9pm on Friday!

Thanks for everyone for showing up and enjoying the POWERADE sampling last night. Tuesday night was fraternity basketball, and there were some great games. AEPi beat Sigma Chi with a last second shot to win 37 to 35. SAE beat Sammie pretty easily. Lambda dominated Phi Delt 48 to 18.
With the season just heating up in pool play it looks like there will be a lot of great games in the playoffs. Look for more free POWERADE next week. See you all there.

This year’s exciting flag football season came to a close last Thursday, December 3rd as five new intramural champions were named! To start off the night with the 5:30 game, team Wrenis Pinkles won the men’s intermediate championship. Next, Dairy Club A was the winner of the co-rec advanced championship. In the co-rec intermediate championship, The Penetrators shut out the Theta Tau II team, with a final score of 14-0. The men’s advanced game at 8:45 was so close! Itchy Roast Beef 3 bested Tree Fiddy 32-31. In the final game of the night, Kthanks took home the women’s advanced champion title.

There were also some awesome half-time competitions that players and fans competed in to win gift cards and autographed VT jerseys! The lucky winner of the Ryan Williams #34 jersey (recently named ACC Rookie of the Year!) got to meet him and have his picture taken with him.

Now that playoffs have begun and we are halfway through the season, we have some awesome footage of the IM football action at VT!! Go to videos and rate your favorites. Since we were not able to make it to the last scheduled sampling event due to rain we have decided to make our last event the Intramural Flag Football All-Star Game. All the friends, family and teammates who attend the game will enjoy plenty of free POWERADE along with some great highlights. The All-Star game is this thursday, we hope to see you there.

While shooting videos today, Steven and I thought of a fun idea…to host a POWERADE halftime show, interviewing players / recapping the previous game. Thought it was a pretty fun idea, and maybe something to look into in the future! Look for the 2nd installment of this little project on Wednesday @ Da Silva Field.

The final Sunday of flag football intramurals at St Johns, and the weather did not disappoint.
While a couple of teams obviously felt it wasn’t warm enough, and didn’t show up for games (leading to forfeits), the games that did take place saw some high scoring. Orhan’s Orho’s and Team Total each walked away with 2 victories on the day, with Orhan’s Orho’s getting a 3rd victory via forfeit. 2 games ended in mercy rulings.
Also scoring high was the POWERADE sampling team, giving out a season high 20 cases (600 bottles) to thirsty players and fans, and capturing some hilarious POWERADE moments with those eager to be in front of the camera!
